Yama & Niyama

About six years ago one of my beautiful yoga teacher trainees from Nature Care College designed these posters for me. Her name is Hui Yi and she’s from Malaysia. I thought her images were too great not to be shared with a wider audience. So, here they are:

Yama

Niyama

You’ll recognise them as the yoga sage Patanjali’s pithy precepts – his recommended rules for getting along with others and mastering your life.

If you ever feel like you’ve veered off the yogic path, you can use them effectively as a way to find your way back.

    • Thank you, Laura. Do you do yoga? Cheers, E

  2. Oh these are beautiful. I am going to print these out as a reminder. Have you read Yamas and Niyamas by Deborah Adele (Amazon), its a great book that explores them in depth.

My friend Tania Wilson recommended your site and I am really enjoying it.

    • Hi Sara,
Welcome to my blog. I’ve noted your recommendation of Deborah Adele’s book and I’ll check it out. In the meantime – Namaste, E
