Not Perfect

It’s been almost 7 months since I had bi-lateral hip replacements and I thought it was time to have a look at how my yoga poses were coming along. Through the eye of a camera.

Daniel was kind enough to take some photos of me posing 😉

Now, you probably know that I would have deleted the not-so-hot images. Well, maybe you don’t know that I still have some shreds of vanity left, even after the indignities of hospital and rehabilitation and all the muck that goes along with those things (think  walking frames and raised toilet seats and worse).

So here’s trikonasana:

Good ole Triangle

The Flying Moon

Ardha chandrasana was not on the surgeon’s list:

Reclining Hero

The inversions were challenging. They took courage getting into at first.

I had to go back to using the wall. Come to think of it, not bragging, just a fact, I’d never used the wall before, even as a beginner.

Halasana

Forearm Balance

Such a pleasure to do yoga in the Shed, and you can see why because of the view. I wish I could say that I had complete powers of concentration and could ignore the charismatic fauna of my environment: eastern rosellas, kookaburras, king parrots, ducks, and calves. Why move to the country if not to enjoy Nature’s distractions?

Finally, this is my favourite of all the photos and poses:

Ujjayi Pranayama
