So unsexy to be tired. It’s something to get over as quickly as possible but how?

A band-aid yoga pose is viparta karani (legs-up-the-wall), which can include Supta Upavistha Konasana (5 min.),  Supta Baddha Konasana (5min.), Supta Sukhasana (3 min. each side) for a little more than 20 min. total.

In emergency situations, add inversions like Supported Sarvangasana and Supported Halasana, and even Setubandhasana on bolsters, all held for timings.

A long yoga nidra, perhaps with the head bandaged can work well.

Tiredness is ultimately pointing towards something so maybe we shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get over it.

I keep forgetting that I had major surgery only a little over 9 weeks ago, was very anaemic afterwards, and maybe I’m not bouncing back as quickly as I’d imagined.

Probably I need to be reminded that I’m not quite ready for big gardening jobs, like digging trenches with a mattock.

(It was fun at the time!)

  1. Hi Eve
I’m just trying this out for the first time (slow adopter). The Tired blog, and the others, are compassionate and life-enhancing reading – how about ‘take it easy on the mattock’ as a phrase?

    • Slow but steady, that’s what we like.
Nice to hear from you, Mark. We will be at the yogis’ breakfast next Saturday, as we are kitty sitting for Martin & Carole in North Sydney.
      Hope we can see you!
